"Kaanta laga" fame Shefali Jariwala passes away at 42; Cardiac arrest suspected
Late on Sunday night, an Air Force soldier was taken into custody for firing at the residence of a police personnel in the sixth-floor area of Barrackpore. The incident, which occurred during shooting practice, resulted in a bullet accidentally hitting the neighbor's house, causing panic in the locality.
No casualties have been reported, and the Titagarh police station is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accidental discharge.
Police sources revealed that the incident was a result of shooting practice gone awry, leading to the unintended impact on a neighboring house. The Titagarh police, upon receiving the report, inspected the site on Monday morning, confirming the presence of a bullet mark.
Subsequently, the Air Force jawan involved in the incident was taken into custody for interrogation. Preliminary findings suggest that the soldier was practicing shooting with an air gun, and the stray bullet missed its intended target, hitting a window glass in the neighboring residence.
Local councilor Jeetvrat Palit mentioned that aside from broken window glasses, no significant damage occurred, and a detailed investigation by the police will provide clarity on the sequence of events.
